Partnerships

We build and sustain intentional partnerships with leaders of community organizations, public systems, and foundations that focus on building Umoja, or unity, and collective strategies toward a thriving, healthy, and robust Bay Area for Black families and communities. We lead organizing and advocacy efforts at the local, regional, and state level to support the health and well-being for Black boys, men, and families.

40x40 Council & Rise East

The 40x40 Council is reshaping Deep East Oakland into a vibrant, multi-generational neighborhood where Black residents can stay, return, heal, prosper, and build power. With our partners on the 40x40 Council (Black Cultural Zone, East Oakland Youth Development Center, Roots Community Health), we are stewarding a 10-year Rise East plan to invest over $100 million in the ‘40×40’ area.
